Over the years, the National College of Arts “Regina Maria” has occupied an important place in the Constanta cultural space, being a unique institution in Dobrudja. Its graduates, after graduating from high school, became specialists in cultural institutions, members of orchestras in the country or abroad, teachers.
The National College of Arts “Regina Maria” from Constanta has been operating, as a school unit with an artistic profile, since 1956, under the name of “School of Music and Fine Arts”, in the headquarters of a Greek School in the city.
The institution has maintained its role as a center for initial and continuing training in the artistic field, for all generations of graduates, from its etsablishment to the present. As a basis for initial training, the school functioned for the primary and secondary school cycles until 1961, when it expanded its number of students with high school classes.
The college offers a multidisciplinary education: artistic practice and general culture. Initiating, developing or training future professionals is the primary quality of this type of education. The educational offer includes a wide range of fields: architecture, design, painting, graphics, choreography, music, etc.
The students of the institution have enriched the school’s record with numerous awards obtained at competitions, nationally and internationally. The results are remarkable in both specialized and general culture competitions. In choreography, for example, we rank among the first places in Europe, this leading position being obtained through work, continuous effort, but also passion.
The National College of Arts “Regina Maria” remains one of the leading schools in Romania, getting involved in cultural life both locally and nationally and internationally. The students are carefully guided, they are supported in all their endeavors, in accordance with the creed of Queen Mary, whose name it bears: “everything that reaches full perfection fills you with a sense of peace and true gratitude…”
